If you press the three dots in the bottom-right corner, you should see the option for Vocabulary Builder enabled. If the Vocabulary Builder option is missing from the left-hand menu, and you are working with a personalized vocabulary file that you've been editing, it is likely that a button set was inadvertently added to the file.
I will first show you how to add a button set so that you understand how this may occur. For example, if you want to add the word "Pikachu" to your device, follow these steps:
- Press the three dots and enter edit mode.
- Buttons that are not part of your current vocabulary file will appear as bright green.
- If you want to add "Pikachu" under the "Watch" button, press and hold the appropriate button, then select "Create Button."
However, if instead of selecting "Create Button," you press "Create Button Set," this will cause Vocabulary Builder to disappear. Let me demonstrate:
- After selecting "Create Button Set," you will be prompted to name it. Let’s call it "Pikachu."
- Press the down arrow to move past the name field, but notice that it does not give you the option to change the button's picture or edit it.
- If you save at this point, the button set will appear as invisible.
Now, even though you may try to add another button, the original invisible button set remains in the vocabulary, which prevents Vocabulary Builder from appearing.
To fix this issue, let’s move to another vocabulary file and I’ll demonstrate the steps for resolving it. In this file, Vocabulary Builder is enabled, but I still cannot see it.
- First, press the three dots and go into edit mode.
- Press any button that takes you to another page. This will create a blank button on the screen.
- Press and hold the blank button, then select "Add Button Set from Library."
At this point, you will see any button sets that have been added to the vocabulary file. You may only have one set causing the issue, but in this case, I have two. I will select the first button set, which will appear in green, indicating it contains a button.
If this button is fine for now, proceed to add the second button set. To do this:
- Press and hold another blank square and select "Add Button Set from Library" again.
- The second button set appears, but it is invisible. To make it visible, press and hold the button set and select "Edit Button Set."
- Press the down arrow and choose "New," then label it appropriately.
- Save the button set.
Now, the button labeled "New" will be visible in your vocabulary file.
Once this is done, exit edit mode by pressing the three dots. You can then search for the word "Ori" and "Finny" in your vocabulary by using the Word Finder.
- Press the three dots again, select "Word Finder," and search for "Ori" and "Finny."
- If these words appear in multiple places in your vocabulary, go to those pages (e.g., "Come," "Mind," "Yes") and delete them.
To delete the buttons, press and hold the button, then select "Remove Button Set." Repeat this for all instances where the invisible button set is located.
Finally, once all button sets have been removed, you can return to your vocabulary file and ensure that Vocabulary Builder is now enabled.
If you need further assistance with any of these steps, please don’t hesitate to contact your local consultant.
